A Rainy Day at Wimbledon

Today we enjoyed a lovely day at Wimbledon, despite the rain. We were fortunate enough to get a personal tour of the Wimbledon grounds. While we waited for the tour, we had a browse around the Wimbledon Museum. We got to see many different types of old racquets, including a double handle racquet. We also saw a lot of memorabilia from Wimbledon's history. Then we headed off for our tour. We went through Centre Court, and the other courts. We also were fortunate enough to see Court 18. This was the court where the longest match ever was played. It went from the 22-24 June 2010. Once we left Wimbledon, we split up. Dad, Sean and Brett went to Harrods. While they were in the ice-cream parlour, they saw Pierce Brosnan, who played 007 in the Bond movies. After some shopping at Regent and Oxford Streets, we all met up back at home. We are all looking forward to another fun- filled day in London tomorrow.

  2. Already mixing with the rich and famous after only a few days in London - very impressive!! Love the Wimbledon photos - a trip to London wouldn't be complete without some tennis photos for the Robinson family - pity about the rain! I like the sound of Harrods - could definitely spend a few days there I think!
