Notre Dame,"Skyfall" and Falling Rain in Paris

Despite rain and wind today, we braved the elements and headed first to "Notre Dame Cathedral". Celebrating 850 years next year, Notre Dame was somewhat darker inside and out than I had remembered. Still, it was fascinating exploring its history, relics and beautiful stained glass windows and treasury.

After Notre Dame, we were excited to find a copy of "Eloise a Paris" (in French, of course), at a nearby bookstore. We then dined for lunch in a lovely little French restaurant. There, Brett Jnr tasted his very first frogs' legs! "They taste just like chicken", was his culinary analysis.

Because of today's rainy weather and our desire to relax and hear a little more spoken English, we went to the movies this afternoon on the Champs Elysee to watch, "Skyfall". Daniel Craig is certainly one of my favourite Bonds. I was spellbound from start to finish!

By the time we came out of the movies, the Champs Elysee was aglow with glimmering Christmas lights. We grabbed some delicious food for dinner from the Christmas Market stalls and took some shots of the Eiffel Tower sparkling in the distance.

The only downside to strolling around Paris is the plethora of smokers - mainly women, it seems. Even in Disneyland Paris, women with toddler in one hand and cigarette in the other are a common sight. It infuriates me but I try to just hold my breath and focus on all the beauty Paris has to offer.         Tricia
